MANDATORY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

In the European Union, the system must be installed in accordance with directive 2006/42/EC and subsequent amendments. In other countries,
it must be installed according to local safety standards. The operational principle is based on the fact that a hydraulic motor rotates a worm
screw, which in turn rotates a toothed rim. Joint rotation causes the rotation of pipes bolted to it.
The machine is supplied in incomplete form (with the motor disassembled). Attention, the Machine is not suitable for working in environments
with an explosive or corrosive atmosphere or with an excessive presence of dust. The joint is designed to be powered by a hydraulic motor.
The oil temperature during operation must normally be included between -30°C and +60°C, at higher temperatures oil duration is significantly
reduced.
In usage conditions that conform to correct usage instructions, vibrations are such that they do not cause dangerous situations. High values
of vibration of the system can lead to early worn of the gear. Consider appropriate safety coefficients that take into account of the vibrations
affecting the joint.
Do not exceed the recommended values. Bear in mind that both bending and torque can greatly affect the strength of the joint. Size the system
referring to the load diagrams.
For Revoblock 07, we recommend operating beyond the operating curve: the values between operating and max curve must be considered as
peak loads linked to vibrations and operation of short duration.
The Revoblock 10 and 14 can bear loads beyond the operating curve (but always below the maximum value) for short periods (in the range
of 10-15 seconds per minute). The load curves do not consider: accelerations imposed by the motor to the load, vibrations related to motor,
hydraulic system or load. It does not even consider wear due to poor maintenance, aggression on materials by atmospheric or corrosive agents.
All of these elements must be considered by the user through the introduction of appropriate safety factors.
In case the joint is assembled on a mobile mean (self-propelled or towed), also consider the vibrations imposed by the structure and, in as much
as possible, avoid keeping the toothing under load during movement of the mean.
Provide the use of appropriate sensors for the part moved by the joint in order to avoid additional hydraulic motor power once the part itself
reaches a stop position: if power continues to be given when the part is in contact with another fixed structure, the toothing is significantly da-
maged. The product is designed to work properly lubricated with grease. Three areas of the Machine must be lubricated: the worm screw-gear
coupling, the bearings and the internal rollers.
Lubrication is very important to prolong the life of the product: lubrication of the worm screw/gear coupling is especially critical. Frequency
of lubrication in this area of the machine depends on the load and work conditions.
Do not disassemble the support blocks of the screw and do not loosen the locking ring nuts on the worm screw. When reassembling the worm
screw, after tightening a ring nut, affix a dial gauge on the screw, on the opposite side to the motor connection. Begin tightening the other lo-
cking ring nut. Rotate the screw and fasten the ring nut until the displacement read on the lower dial gauge is less than 0.02 mm. If performing
this operation for the first time, contact Battioni Pagani for further information.
Before carrying out any maintenance, always disconnect the machine from the mains, secure the load and make sure that no-one is within
range of the load. All maintenance must only be entrusted to operators who have been duly trained and have read and understand this ma-
nual. In the interest of safety, do not put the swivel joint to any use other than those mentioned above and foreseen by the Manufacturer.
Any other use of the Revoblock motorised joint, except what has been mentioned above, is considered prohibited, not foreseen
by the manufacturer, and therefore highly dangerous. Do not use the gate valve in potentially explosive environments.
Never remove the guards provided on the gate valve and check their efficiency each time the machine is used. Do not activate
the gate valve if it is not connected to the piping.
Any intervention is to be carried out when the plant is not under pressure and with the actuators disconnected
Non-compliance with the instructions contained in this manual may lead to the following danger:
