ensure the safety and correct operation of the refrigeration unit, it is necessary to strictly comply with the instructions given in
the Manual, avoiding operations that may cause malfunctions and risks for the operator.
Strict compliance with the following procedures is recommended:
Refer to the technical documents for any operation to be performed on the refrigeration unit.
Any operation not provided for must be authorised by the manufacturer.
The "Machine Room" must be sized and adapted to the refrigeration unit in compliance with EN 378-3 standards.
Before performing any operation be sure to:
5.
Disconnect the machine from the electrical power supply by turning the electrical control panel switch off
6.
Make sure that there are no pressurised and/or live parts
7.
Check that the temperatures of the various parts cannot cause burns
8.
Place a sign on the electrical panel indicating the status of the refrigeration unit in order to avoid undesired start-ups.
ALWAYS AVOID THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:
- Action:
Closing the compressor drain valve while it is running
- Risk:
Compressor head bursting
- Action:
Closing the oil valves
- Risk:
Compressor damage
- Action:
Operations on screws and bolts of the compressors and pressurised circuits
- Risk:
Structural failures leaking of pressurised fluids
- Action:
Powering the machine during maintenance
- Risk:
Danger of electrical shock, damage to the refrigeration unit
- Action:
Performing maintenance with the electrical panel open and live
- Risk:
Danger of electrical shock
- Action:
Replacing protections (fuses, thermals, etc.) with different models
- Risk:
Damage to users, untimely intervention, possible loss of coordination of protections
- Action:
Failing to check the tightening torque of the screws of the terminal boards
- Risk:
Damage to electrical equipment
- Action:
Incorrect programming of the electronic control unit
- Risk:
Damage to the various users
- Action:
Failing to check the equality of the phase sequence on both the first and second windings, for
compressors equipped with part-winding start-up
- Risk:
Damage to the compressors and contactors
- Action:
Incorrect calibration of the part-winding start-up timer
- Risk:
Damage to the first compressor winding, untimely tripping of the protections
- Action:
Opening the junction boxes with the rack powered
- Risk:
Danger of electrocution
- Action:
Incorrect calibration of pressure switches
- Risk:
Damage to the components of the power unit, risk of components exploding
- Action:
Inserting electronic control unit probes in the inserts in the presence of ice
- Risk:
Incorrect reading of the parameters
- Action:
Contacts with parts of the refrigeration unit marked with danger signs
- Risk:
Electrocution, burns, injuries
- Action:
Changing the parameters of the electronic control unit
- Risk:
Stopping the power unit, this operation must be performed by qualified personnel
- Action:
Contacts with parts of the refrigeration unit marked with danger signs
- Risk:
Electrocution, burns, injuries
- Action:
Use of elongated objects that can come into contact, passing through the mesh of the protection cage,
with the fan blades of the condenser or the fan of the head of the LT reciprocating compressors
