Bominox, S.A. - Installation and Maintenance Instructions
When suction must occur from a lower level than the pump (fig.2), a foot valve must be installed (d) to
avoid priming. The valve must be installed at the maximum depth that enables correct suction of the
liquid to be obtained.
Ensure that the suction and discharge tubes have their own fastening and do not load their weight or
tension on the pump.
In the case of very long discharge tubes it is recommended to place a check valve on the discharge (c)
to prevent possible water hammer and thus avoid potential damage to the pump's components.

3.3 Motor connection

The connection must be made by a specialist pursuant to current safety dispositions. It is
essential to observe the manufacturer's data on the motor's specification plate.
All the necessary measures must be taken to avoid cable and connection faults.
Connect the motor according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Check the turning direction: counter clockwise viewed from the front of the pump (fig.3).
3.4 Priming
Pump loaded: open the valves (a, b) so that the load liquid floods the body of the pump and it is primed
(fig.1).
Suction pump: fill the suction tube with liquid and the body of the pump through the discharge intake
(fig.2).
Once primed check that there are no losses of liquid through the joints on the tubes, valves, etc.
3.5 Start-up
Check that the motor's voltage is the same as that of the network.
Check that the motor is connected correctly according to instructions.
Check the turning direction (fig.3)
With the discharge valve closed, start the motor, opening the valve immediately until the desired flow or
pressure is obtained. Next check that the electrical consumption in amperes is correct, within the limits
indicated on the specification plate.
If the pump does not operate as required once started, check the priming, turning direction and
connections of the motor.

Maintenance
Defective or incomplete maintenance may lead to incorrect operation of the machine (with increased
incidence and therefore costs from insufficient quality).
Good maintenance enables incidents to be reduced in the process and at the same time
guarantees compliance of the product's requirements and specifications.
National regulations must be observed.
EN 10
Does not
