It is the user's responsibility to establish an inspection plan defining the necessary
intervals and maintenance of these appliances with the aim of guaranteeing their correct
use.
Inspections must be carried out by personnel qualified for the type of appliance and/or installation.
It is recommended to carry out the following actions/checks with the aim of ensuring correct operation
of the Bominox pumps.

4.1 Replacing spare parts

In addition to these, also see the attached instructions from the original manufacturer.
4.1.1 Changing the single mechanical seal
A mechanical seal is made up of two parts: the fixed and the turning part. The pump's seal is achieved
through the friction faces of these parts. The use of very abrasive products or especially using the pump
without liquid may damage these faces and/or their joints. In this case the mechanical seal must be
changed.
Disassembly:
Disconnect the motor (7), loosen and remove clamp (6) and suction cover (2). Remove the O-ring (12).
Loosen and remove the cap nut (9) fastening the shaft (5) with a spanner or clamp through the body-
flange hatch (1). Remove the impeller (4) and key (11). Remove the turning part of the mechanical seal
(8) through the top of the shaft.
To remove the fixed part, remove the screws (23) on the seal cover (10) through the side opening of the
body-flange. It must be extracted using one of the screws through the threaded orifice of the back ring
(3) and removing the cover little-by-little. The stationary part of the mechanical seal can be manually
removed from its housing. Check the condition of the shaft (5) to see if it has any notches or wear, in
which case it is recommended to change it.
Assembly:
For assembly, follow the instructions in reverse. Assemble the fixed part of the mechanical seal (8) on
the seal cover (10) at pressure and insert it into the orifice for the body-flange shaft (1) to the end,
ensuring that the centering elements of the seal cover match the corresponding orifices in the back ring
(3). Screw the seal cover on the back ring and insert the turning part of the mechanical seal placing a
little neutral grease or soapy water on the shaft (5) to help it go in.
4.1.2 Change the shaft
The shaft on the monoblock pumps is a detachable shaft that is fixed on top of the shaft of the motor
with a setscrew with a locknut. A hard strike, a foreign body to structure the pump or continued use of
the pump may mean it is necessary to change it.
The pump must never be turned dry!
4.2 Guarantee
All Bominox pumps are guaranteed for one year from the delivery date on manufacturing defects, as
long as they are used following the recommendations of the service instructions and pursuant to the
specifications indicated in the conditions of sale, and do not have wear as a result of service in severe
conditions (e.g. extremely corrosive or abrasive).
The guarantee shall be void if there are modifications to the pump that are not expressly authorised by
Bominox, the parts used are not original, all the pumps have been used incorrectly or exposed to strong
pressure.
