AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH "ATS" OPERATION GUIDE
The automatic transfer switch or CTA is used to detect the absence of electricity from the power grid and auto-
matically turn on the generator, transferring the electric loads to it, if the corresponding parameter [AUTO] is set.
See the operation guide for the ATS below:
A.
Before using the "AUTOMATIC MODE" make sure that the following points have been followed:
• Consult a qualified electrician with knowledge of the equipment to make the electrical connections and use
the appropriate protection devices. The specifications of NBR 5410 must be followed. Contact Customer
Service for any additional information;
• Ensure that the parameters of the controller are properly configured – see the guides for "CONFIGURATION
OF THE CONTROL PARAMETERS" and "ALARM FUNCTIONS";
• It must be ensured that the voltage and power are compatible, as well as the overload and short-circuit
protections.
• The equipment must be completely disconnected from the mains and the generator must be turned off before
beginning the electrical connections and links;
• Perform the electrical connections between the generator, ATS, power grid, and the loads to be supplied
carefully.
• Finally, the protection devices and sectioning should be put in the "ON" position.
B.
Selection of automatic mode:
• Select the "AUTO" mode on the panel of the generator;
• Press the "AUTO" button on the controller to select automatic mode. Verify the indicator light to ensure
selection. To exit automatic mode, press the "STOP" button.

C.
Operation in automatic mode:
• When operating in automatic mode, the system detects automatically the existence of power in the electric
grid and, if present, the loads are connected to it. In this case, the screen of the controller displays the follow
message:
Note: the grid parameters remain visible on the screen for approximately 4 seconds.
• If the supply of the power grid is interrupted, the controller will engage the generator so that it starts
supplying power for the loads. Initially, the starting motor is engaged for approximately 1.5 seconds, with
verification of approximately 8 seconds. The following message appears on controller screen:
• If the first attempt to start the generator is not successful, a second attempt will begin after approximately 8
seconds. The controller will keep the starting motor engaged for up to 1.8 seconds. The following message
appears on controller screen:
In the event of any alarm detected by the controller, the generator will exit "AUTOMA-
