Description of Control Modes – MyoHand VariPlus Speed
Control Mode 1: DMC plus
Requires: 2 electrodes
Control with two electrodes
The grip speed and grip force are determined by the strength of the EMG muscle signal. With another, stronger
electrode signal, the amputee can always increase the grip force up to the maximum of approx. 100 N.
Proportionally controlled by the OPENING electrode.
Opening:
Proportionally controlled by the CLOSING electrode.
Closing:
Example 1:
A gentle electrode signal applies the smallest grip force to the object.
Example 2:
A stronger electrode signal creates a more powerful grip force. Another, stronger
electrode signal increases the grip force up to the maximum of approx. 100 N.
Control Mode 1: DMC plus: Two electrodes
Opening
Sustained electrode signal
Speed: Proportional
Control Mode 2: AutoControl - LowInput
Requires: 2 electrodes,
1 electrode and 1 switch or
1 switch
The hand closes at constant speed and the grip force increases proportionally to the duration of gripping.
Control with two electrodes
Proportionally controlled by the OPENING electrode.
Opening:
At constant speed by a muscle signal of any level above the ON-threshold to the CLOSING
Closing:
electrode.
Control Mode 2: AutoControl - LowInput: Two electrodes
Opening
Sustained electrode signal
Speed: Proportional
Closing
Sustained electrode signal
Gripping once with maximum force prevents the hand
from opening due to unintentional electrode signals.
Speed: Proportional
Closing
Sustained electrode signal
Gripping once with maximum force prevents the hand
from opening due to unintentional electrode signals.
Speed: Constant
