Operating Instructions Torque Power BL ISO
Cleaning and disinfection of the
Torque Power BL ISO housing
The outer surfaces of the Torque Power BL ISO housing
must be cleaned and disinfected after each patient. If
any deposits and/or dirt residues are visible, you also
must clean the housing during treatment.
The Torque Power BL ISO housing can also be simulta-
neously cleaned and disinfected with a disinfectant,
®
e.g. CAVICIDE
(17 % isopropyl alcohol, 3 % ethylene
glycol monobutyl ether).
To clean and disinfect the Torque Power BL ISO hous-
ing, moisten a clean, lint-free cloth in the disinfectant and
use it to wipe the outer surfaces of the housing, even in
hard-to-access areas. Check to make sure that all visible
dirt and residue has been removed from the surface.
Let the surfaces air-dry. Do not wipe them dry!
You can also use CAVIWIPES™ (cleaning cloths
moistened in CAVICIDE).
When cleaning and disinfecting the housing, make sure
that no liquids can penetrate into the interior of the unit.
Instead of using CAVICIDE
you can also disinfect the Torque Power BL ISO
housing using a disinfectant containing one of the
following substances:
•
Alcohol, ethanol < 50 %
•
Glutaraldehyde > 0.019 %
CAUTION
• Do not use disinfectants containing any of the following
substances:
– Phenol
– Alcohols > 50 %
– Peracetic acid
– Peroxide or any other oxygen-splitting agents
– Chlorine and iodine-splitting agents
• Check the gasket of the 4-hole highspeed handpiece
hose connection regularly and replace it if necessary.
• Regularly check all gaskets for damage or signs of wear
and tear, e.g. cuts, tears, notches or wear. Replace all
damaged or heavily worn gaskets as soon as they
appear to be worn out.
