INSTALLATION.
This equipment must be used solely for welding operations.
It is essential to pay especially close attention to the chapter on SAFETY PRECAUTIONS in this
Instruction Manual, par. 1.
The equipment must be installed by qualified personnel.
All connections must be carried out in compliance with current standards and in full observance of
current safety laws.
3.1
Placement.
The combined weight of Power Source and Cooling Unit is
approximately 100 Kg, thus when lifting following the instructions
shown in figure a side.
Position the Power Source in an area that ensures good stability, and
efficient ventilation so as to prevent metal dust from entering.
3.2
Power Source installation.
For reference see fig. 2, 3a and 3b.
Place the Robot Interface (25) inside the Robot Control Cabinet (5), following the instructions
provided in the Robot Interface Instruction Manual.
Connect the Power Source (21) to the Robot Interface (25) using the signal cable (3) and the
CANopen cable (4) (the latter is included in the Robot Interface).
If present, connect the Power Source (21), BS connector to the Wire Feeder (8) BB connector by
means of the extension (2).
Connect the power cable of the Tig Torch to the BA terminal of the Power Source and the eventual
Torch signals cable to the BC connector of the external commands of the Power Source.
Connect the ground cable of the welding system to the BB terminal of the Power source.
Mount the plug on the power cord, being especially carefully to connect the yellow/green conductor to
the earth pole.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the rated voltage of the Power Source.
Size the protective fuses based on the data listed on the technical specifications plate of the Power
Source.
Complete the remaining connections of the other Welding System equipments, consulting the relative
Instruction Manuals in par. "Installation".
3.3
Cooling Unit installation.
For reference see fig. 2, 3a and 3b.
Unscrew the cap BF and fill the 5-litre tank. The device is supplied by the factory with approximately
one litre of fluid already present.
It is important to periodically check, through the slot BM, that the fluid remains at the "max" level.
As a coolant, use water (preferably de-ionized) mixed
with alcohol, in the percentage shown in the table a side:
Connect the hoses of the Tig Torch (7) cooling circuit to
the BI and BL fittings of the Cooling Unit (22) matching
the hose and valve colours correctly.
3.4
Welding System power up.
For reference see fig. 3a, 3b and 7.
Power up the Welding System with the BG switch on Power Source.
System powered; on Control Panel all leds and display light on (lamp test).
After one second, the display O reads "Art", and display U reads the Power Source code (es.:"353").
After one second, the display O reads "PAn", and display U reads the version of the PANEL program
inserted into Control Panel (es.: 02_).
After one second, the display O reads "MSt", and display U reads the version of the MASTER
program inserted into micro board of the Power Source (es.: 04_).
