Operation
Operating the pump
□
Plug the pump (A) into a properly grounded outlet.
The pump (A) is equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) plug. If the pump is not running
o
when it should be, check this plug to ensure it has not tripped. If it has tripped, press the button on the
plug to reset. If the pump continuously trips, try plugging the pump into a different outlet.
If extension cords are used, make sure the extension cord ends cannot get wet. The GFCI plug will not
o
protect against shock hazards that occur in the extension cord.
□
When there is at least 1-9/16 in. of water around the pump, the float switch will be raised, turning the pump on.
When water is pumped down to approximately 3/8 in., the pump will run for an additional 30-60 seconds and
□
then shut off.
□
The pump will turn on again when water rises to 1-9/16 in.
WARNING: Do not allow the plug to fall in the water
and do not stand in the water or on a damp surface
while the pump is plugged in. Do not handle the
plugged-in pump with wet hands.
NOTE: The float switch is located in the cage on
the side of the pump. Keep this cage clean so the
float switch can operate properly.
