5.2.8 Setting operation with external
string optimizers
If the inverter is to be operated with external string
optimizers, the internal MPP tracker must be deactivated
and a constant DC input voltage must be specified.
Procedure:
1. Open the LCS-Tool.
2. Log in as an Installer.
3. Call up the menu Setup.
4. Select On under Operation mode in the Inverter
DC Voltage Constant Mode area.
5. Select [Save] to save the changes.

5.2.9 Activating "Q on Demand 24/7"
Inverter Self-testing
If the Q on Demand 24/7 function is enabled, the
inverter self-test must be set to a time when there is
enough PV energy available to start the inverters. If
the PV energy is not high enough to start the inverters,
no self-test will take place.
Tip: If the Q on Demand 24/7 function is enabled,
set the time of the self-test so that the inverter self-test
occurs during the day (see
Section 5.2.14, page 42).
The Q on Demand 24/7 function enables the inverter to
provide reactive power both during and outside feed-in
operation. The setpoint of the reactive power is determined
by the settings in the grid code.
Procedure:
1. Open the LCS-Tool.
2. Select the desired SMA Inverter Manager from the list.
3. Log in as an Installer.
4. Call up the menu Setup.
5. Select 5: Qext under Inverter Parameter in the
Basic Settings area. This setting generally applies to
the reactive power feed-in.
6. If required, you can have the Commissioning Report
displayed by selecting [Yes].
7. Select the night mode 0: Q@Night under Inverter
Parameter in the Basic Settings area.
8. Select [Save] to save the changes.
