The rechargeable battery is partially charged.
Fully charge the rechargeable battery before us-
ing it for the first time. The rechargeable battery
can be charged in any charge status. Interrupting
charging does not damage the rechargeable bat-
tery.
NOTE For detailed information, heed the
separate operating instructions for the recharge-
able battery and for the charging unit.
CAUTION! Danger of fire during
charging! Due to heating of the charger, there is
a danger of fire if it is placed on an inflammable
surface and is not adequately ventilated.
Always use the charger on a non-inflamma-
ble surface or in a non-combustible environ-
ment.
If available: Keep the ventilation slots free.
1. Push the rechargeable batteries (01/1) into
the charger (01/2) and plug the power plug
(01/3) into the power outlet. The charging
process starts and the battery charge indica-
tor flashes green.
2. The charging process takes approx. 60 min-
utes (2.5 Ah) or 95 minutes (4.0 Ah) to fully
charge each battery. The charging process
ends automatically when the rechargeable
battery is fully charged.
3. Disconnect the power plug (01/3) when bat-
tery charge indicator (02/1) shows a steady
green light.
4. Press and hold the engaging button on the
bottom of the rechargeable battery.
5. Pull the rechargeable battery (01/1) out of the
charger (01/2).

Two battery charge indicators (02/1) on the char-
ger indicate the charge state of the rechargeable
battery and the operating state of the charger.

IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the re-
chargeable battery. If the rechargeable battery
is left in the appliance after use, it may damage
the rechargeable battery.
Immediately after use, pull the rechargeable
battery out of the appliance and store in a
frost-protected area.
Only insert the rechargeable battery in the
appliance immediately before starting work.
Inserting rechargeable batteries
1. Open the cover (04/1) of the rechargeable
battery compartment (04/a).
2. Push the rechargeable batteries (04/2) into
the rechargeable battery compartment from
above until they engage (04/b).
3. Close the cover of the rechargeable battery
compartment.
Green battery charge indicator flash-
ing (fast): The battery is charging in
quick-charge mode.
Green battery charge indicator flash-
ing (slow): Battery is approx. 80%
charged. The rechargeable battery
can be removed from the charger for
use.
Green battery charge indicator with
steady light: Battery is fully charged.
Green battery charge indicator with
steady light (without battery insert-
ed): Charger is ready for operation.
Red battery charge indicator with
steady light: Battery temperature is
outside the permissible charging
temperature range. Quick-charge
mode starts as soon as the battery
temperature returns to the permissi-
ble charging temperature range.
Red battery charge indicator flash-
ing: Fault in the charging process
(see operating instructions for char-
gers 443131).
