Operation

Removing the rechargeable batteries
1. Press and hold the unlock button on the re-
chargeable battery.
2. Pull out the rechargeable batteries (04/2).

Switching the power supply on and
off (05)
The key switch on the rechargeable battery com-
partment can be used to switch the power supply
for the entire appliance on and off. The key
switch is operated with the safety key.
WARNING! Risk of injury. Unintentional
switching on can lead to serious injuries.
Each time before work breaks and mainte-
nance work: To turn off the power, turn the
safety key to the 'Off' position and then re-
move it.
Switching on the power supply
1. Open the cover (04/1) of the rechargeable
battery compartment (04/a).
2. Insert (05/a) the safety key (05/1) into the key
switch (05/2).
3. Turn the safety key to the 'ON' position (posi-
tion I). The appliance is supplied with operat-
ing voltage, but does not yet begin to oper-
ate.
4. Close the cover of the rechargeable battery
compartment (04/1).
5. Switch on the appliance: see chapter 6.3
"Starting and stopping the motor (09 or 10)",
page 25.
Switching off the power supply
1. Turn the safety key (05/1) to the 'OFF' posi-
tion (position 0) and remove it (05/b).
2. Immediately after use, remove the recharge-
able batteries from the appliance, charge and
store in a frost-protected area. Insert the re-
chargeable batteries into the appliance only
immediately before the next use.
6 OPERATION
WARNING! Danger if assembly is not
carried out completely! Use of an incompletely
assembled appliance can result in serious injury.
Operate the appliance only when it is fully as-
sembled!
Do not insert the battery into the appliance
until it is fully assembled!

Setting the cutting height 32.1 Li (06)

CAUTION! Danger of lacerations. Danger
of lacerations when reaching into the running
mower mechanism.
Only adjust the cutting height when the motor
is switched off and the mower mechanism is
stationary.
1. Press the release lever (06/1) outwards
slightly (06/a) and hold it.
For shorter grass, push the lever towards
the front wheel (06/a), minimum level 1:
approx. 2.5 cm
For longer grass, push the lever towards
the rear wheel (06/b), maximum level 5:
approx. 6.5 cm
2. Release the lever until it engages at the re-
quired level.

Setting the cutting height 38.1 Li (07)

CAUTION! Danger of lacerations. Danger
of lacerations when reaching into the running
mower mechanism.
Only adjust the cutting height when the motor
is switched off and the mower mechanism is
stationary.
1. For shorter grass, push the lever towards the
front wheel (07/a), minimum level 1: approx.
2.5 cm
2. For longer grass, push the lever towards the
rear wheel (07/b), maximum level 6: approx.
7.5 cm

Starting and stopping the motor (09 or
10)
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the ap-
pliance. The engine and blade system can be
damaged by consecutively switching on and off
briefly several times.
Only switch the engine on when the mower
mechanism has stopped.
Starting the engine
1. Press the start button (09/1 or 10/1) and keep
it pressed (09/a or 10/a).
2. Pull the safety handle (09/2) or operator pres-
ence control (10/2) towards the handlebar
(09/3 or 10/3) (09/b or 10/b). Start the engine
and mower mechanism.
3. Release the start button (09/1 or 10/1) while
holding the safety handle (09/2) or operator
presence control (10/2).
