14. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
1. The cutting means does
not rotate even if the
throttle control lever (Fig.
12.A) and locking lever
(Fig. 12.B) are engaged.
2. The motor shuts down
whilst working
3. The chain heats and
emits smoke on the
end part of the bar.
4. The motor runs irregularly
and lacks power when revved
5. Excessive noise and/or
vibration is experienced
whilst working
6. The machine emits
smoke during operation.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Battery is not inserted or
is inserted incorrectly.
Incorrect connection to
the battery backpack.
Low battery.
Battery backpack
selector to "OFF".
The throttle control lever is faulty
or the machine is damaged
Battery is not inserted correctly
Machine damaged
Excessive chain tensioning
Lubricant oil tank empty.
Bar and chain problems
Loose or damaged parts

SOLUTION
Make sure that the battery is
inserted correctly (par. 7.2.3).
Check that the machine
is correctly connected to
the battery backpack.
Check the battery
status and recharge if
necessary (par. 7.2.2).
Check that the selector
(Fig. 5.B) is placed on
one of the batteries inside
the battery backpack.
Do not use the machine. Stop
the machine immediately,
disconnect it from the battery
backpack and contact an
Authorised Service Centre.
Make sure that the battery is
inserted correctly (par. 7.2.3).
Do not use the machine.
Remove the battery and
Contact an Authorised
Service Centre.
Retension the chain (par. 6.1.4).
Fill the lubricant oil
tank (par. 7.3).
Check that the chain runs
freely and the bar guides
are not deformed.
Turn off the machine,
remove the battery and:
– inspect for damage;
– check for and tighten
any loose parts;
– have any damaged parts
replaced or repaired with
parts having equivalent
specifications.
Do not use the machine.
Immediately stop the machine,
disconnect it from the battery
backpack and contact an
Authorised Service Centre.
