Folded on vehicle
• Incorrectly mounted roof racks and rooftop
tents can come loose during travel and cause
serious accidents. Follow the accompanying
instructions on how to install, use and handle
the roof top tent and roof racks.
• Before driving away, ensure tent mounting
brackets and vehicle racks are securely fastened.
Check at regular intervals on longer trips and
every 2 hours when driving on rough terrain.
• Make sure the tent is completely closed and
straps are secured before driving.
• Do not drive a vehicle while the tent is deployed.
• The vehicle's speed must always be adjusted to
the load being carried and the current driving
conditions, such as the road type, road quality,
wind conditions, traffic intensity and applicable
speed limits, but must under no circumstances
exceed 130 km/h (80 mph). Applicable speed
limits and other traffic regulations must always
be observed.
• Drive slowly over speed bumps, maximum
speed 10 km/h (6.2 mph).
• The vehicle's driving characteristics and
braking behaviour change and its vulnerability
to side-winds increases when a load is carried
on the roof.
• When using an automatic car-wash facility,
the roof top tent and roof rack must first
be removed.
• The total permissible laden weight of the
given motor vehicle may not be exceeded. The
instructions of the motor vehicle manufacturer
in respect of the maximum roof weight must be
observed.
• Calculation of allowed roof load:
Weight of roof rack
+ weight of roof top tent
+ weight of payload
= available roof load
• The height of the given vehicle can increase
by up to 600 mm (depending on the roof rack
used)
• Beware of low garage entrances, low clearances
in general, low-hanging branches, etc.
• For reasons of fuel economy and the safety of
other road users, the rooftop tent and roof rack
should be removed when not in use.
• For your own safety, you should only use tested
(e.g. GS-tested) roof racks that are authorised
for usage in conjunction with your vehicle.
• In order to avoid generating excessive lifting
forces, the rooftop tent must be mounted
parallel to the line of the road and not at
an angle.

• If no special fitting positions are given in
EN
the assembly instructions, try to maintain
a minimum distance of 700 mm between the
roof rack bars. Please note that changes
(e.g. additional drill holes) to the rooftop tent
fixation system are not permissible.
• In addition to the rooftop tent instructions, due
consideration should also be given to mounting
instructions for the given roof rack and the
operating instructions of the given vehicle.
Deployed tent
• KEEP ALL FLAME AND HEAT SOURCES AWAY
FROM THE TENT FABRIC. The tent meets
the flammability requirements of CPAI-84
and CGSB 182-1. The fabric may burn if left in
continuous contact with any flame source.
The application of any foreign substance to
the tent fabric may render the flame resistant
properties ineffective.
• Do not use fuel-burning or oxygen-consuming
devices inside or close to the tent. This includes
candles, gas lanterns, kerosene lamps and
cooking and heating appliances.
• Do not put the tent near a campfire or any
other flame source. Keep a distance of at least
19ft / 6 m.
• Fall or strangulation hazard- Never leave a child
unattended in the tent.
• The ladder must remain in place to support the
tent.
• Do not retract the ladder while it´s in use.
• Read and follow the warnings and instructions
on the ladder.
• Use caution while climbing up and down the
ladder.
Maintenance
• The roof top tent should be carefully cleaned
and maintained. For this purpose, only use
a solution of water and standard household
washing liquid without any alcohol, bleach or
ammonium additives as otherwise the surface
of the roof top tent could suffer damage.
• For hardshell tents, it is recomended to regularly
apply a wax coating in order to maintain
a glossy surface.
• Thule tents are highly water resistant. Moisture
found inside of the tent is likely caused by
condensation. To minimize the amount of
condensation, always keep windows or vents
open. Also avoid keeping wet clothes inside of
the tent.
• Thule tent fabrics have a water resistant
coating and sealed seams to prevent water
