When drying fruit, it is recommended that the fruit be dipped in a of lemon/water
mixture of about 10 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Then pat
the fruit dry well prior to putting it in the food dehydrator. Make sure the fruit is ripe,
but not too ripe or too soft.
For drying meat, the best results are achieved with lean and cooked meats. Dried meat
should always make a chinking sound, should not stick and should not smell off.
