Getting started with Analysis Vibration Sensor System
Affixing sensor to mounting adapter
Determine the sensor position on the mounting adapter. Consistent measurement
of the orthogonal axes on any rotating asset is important. The sensor Z-axis on the
mounting adapter should correspond to the asset plane being measured.
Use following images as a guide to sensor orientation on the asset.
Vertical
Horizontal
Axial
Having determined the position to mount the sensor, apply recommended adhesive
to the four positions at the bottom of the sensor (the three outer magnets and the
cylindrical stainless steel center disc).
NOTE: The stainless steel center piece is the only area with a direct connection to the
sensor measurement elements.
With the adhesive well applied on the three magnets and the center disc, fix the
sensor to the mounting adapter at the predetermined location. If satisfied with the
position of the sensor, press sensor to the mounting adapter to form a firm permanent
bond.
