Note
The sensor mounting holes -arrows- must be drilled in the positions marked on the inside of the bumper covering -1-.
◆
The exterior installation holes -3- for the sensors are marked and drilled with a 15 mm upwards offset from the
specified markings -2-.
◆
The inner installation holes -5- for the sensors are marked and drilled with a 5 mm upwards offset from the
specified markings -4-.
Remove the bumper cover.

The drilling points for the installation holes must be re-marked on the interior side of the bumper cover -1-.
Based on the markings -2- and -4-, mark the new drilling points -3- and -5-.
Center punch the drilling spots -3- and -5- on the bumper cover -1- and drill them using a ∅ 2 mm bit.
Use an ∅ 20 mm Forstner or step drill bit to drill the holes from the outside.
Deburr the holes for the sensors in the bumper cover.

Route the supplied sensor wiring harness to the drilled holes -1- to -4- in the bumper cover. Wire 1 must be
allocated to the left-hand drilled hole -1- in the forward direction and the other wires, 2 - 4, must then be
sequentially allocated.
Use the supplied cable ties -arrows- to secure the sensor harness to the corrugated tube in the bumper covering.

Note
◆
The following steps can only be completed after the paint on the sensors is completely dry.
◆
For reasons of clarity, the figure shows a dismantled sensor.
◆
The correct position of the sensors can be seen using the markings in the outer ring of the sensors - these must
point upwards.
◆
The plug -3- is designed such that it can only be plugged into the connector socket -1- on the sensor -2- in one
position.
Clip the sensors -2- into the holes in the bumper cover.
Connect the plug -3- to the connector sockets -1- of the sensors -2-. Push the covers -4- over the sensors -2-.
Page 3 – Fig. 2
Pull the harness -arrow- into the corrugated tube -1- and then through the vehicle's grommet -2-.
Refit the bumper cover following the same sequence in reverse, pulling the wiring harness inside the vehicle.
Fit the grommet -2-.
Route the sensor wiring harness to the fitting site of the control unit of the parking distance control system (see
page 4, fig. 1, -1-).
Secure the wiring harness with the supplied cable ties to the existing vehicle wiring.
1.4 Fit the buzzer and control unit, connect and route the wiring harness
Page 3 – Fig. 3
Use a suitable cleaning agent, e.g. industrial alcohol, to degrease the fitting site for the parking distance control
system's buzzer unit -1- on the right rear wheel arch.
Use the supplied double-sided adhesive tape to mount the buzzer -1- in the luggage compartment.
Secure the buzzer harness to the vehicle's existing wiring using cable ties -arrows-.
