5.2.5 Replacing the sweatband

1. Detach the hook-and-loop fasteners at the sweatband and
remove the sweatband from the headband.
2. Attach the new sweatband to the headband and secure it
with the hook-and-loop fasteners, making sure the hook-
and-loop fasteners are secured tightly and without
creases.
5.2.6 Replacing the headband
1. Remove the headband from the helmet at the four
attachment points.
To do this, remove the headband from the two rear pivot
bolts. Then unlock the two front fastening studs by rotating
them 90 degrees and remove the headband from the
helmet.
2. First secure the new headband to the helmet using the two
front fastening studs and secure the studs by rotating
them 90 degrees. Then press the two rear pivot bolts into
the matching slots until the pivot bolts audibly click into
place.
3. Remove the sweatband and padding from the old
headband and mount them to the new headband or mount
a new sweatband and padding (see "Changing the
padding", page 13)(see "Replacing the sweatband",
page 14).
5.2.7 Replacing the face shield sealing
1. Secure the C-slot of the face shield sealing to the edge of
the outer frame of the face shield (see fold-out page,
illustration F1).
2. Press in the direction of the arrow to complete the
installation (see fold-out page, illustration F2).
3. Attach the inner and outer rubber band on both sides to
the "T" hook in order to secure the rubber band (see fold-
out page, illustration F3).
6 Transport
Transport the facepiece in its original packaging.
7 Storage
Store the Dräger X-plore 8000 face shield fully assembled in
its original packaging.
Keep all facepieces dry and free of dirt and protect them from
direct sunlight and thermal radiation. Avoid storing near
aggressive substances (such as solvents and fuels).
8 Disposal
The life span of the facepieces is 3 years if they are used and
maintained as described in these instructions for use. The life
span of the visor depends on the type of strain. Extreme
operating conditions can shorten the life span.
Dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulations.
