Feature description
The face shield is connected to a breathing air supply via a
hose. The air from the breathing air supply is blown through
the air circulation system to the user's face. The resulting
overpressure prevents the penetration of ambient air that may
contain contaminants. Excess air can escape through the
sealing cuff of the facepiece.
3.3
Intended use
The face shield from the Dräger X-plore 8000 series can only
be used with powered air-purifying respirators from the
Dräger X-plore 8000 series or compressed air hose units from
the Dräger X-plore 9300 series.
The face shield protects the wearer from
– ambient air containing contaminants,
– solid and liquid particles,
– impacts.
3.4
Limitations on use
In ambient atmospheres with oxygen deficiency, the
facepieces can only be used in combination with a
compressed air hose unit, as they do not supply oxygen.
When used in combination with a powered air-purifying
respirator, the facepieces are not suitable for use in ambient
atmospheres with oxygen deficiency. Therefore, do not enter
unventilated containers, e.g. pits, ducts, etc. with the Dräger
X-plore 8000 facepieces and powered air-purifying
respirators!
