8. Clean all debris (gravel, sand, floating debris, etc.) from the basin using a mild detergent and water.
9. Check the pump system components (basin, pump, etc.) for any build-up (sludge, sediment, minerals,
etc.) that would inhibit functionality of the components, and clean as required. If significant, replace
affected components.
10. Reassemble parts in reverse order.
• Tighten to a torque screws 18–20 in.-lbs.
11. Test operation of the pump system. Refer to
Pump Maintenance
NOTE: Refer to the pump manual for additional information.
1. Disconnect power to the pump.
2. Disconnect the pump from the discharge plumbing.
3. Remove pump from the basin.
4. Clean the inlet screen using a mild detergent and water. Reinstall.
5. Remove the six pump base screws to remove.
6. Clean inside the base around the impeller using a mild detergent and water.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove impeller.
7. Reinstall the base, making sure seal ring is seated properly in groove.
• Tighten the screws to a torque of 10–15 in.-lbs.
8. Test operation of the pump system. Refer to

Corrective Action
Plug in pump.
Turn on circuit breaker or replace fuse.
Replace pump.
Refer to the float switch manual.
Remove pump and clean air bleed hole.
Larger pump required.
Check flow indicating arrow on check valve body to ensure
proper installation.
Remove check valve and inspect for proper operation.
Check rated pump performance.
Pull pump and clean.
Remove pump and clean air bleed hole.
Check rated pump performance.
Check that supply voltage matches the nameplate rating.
Pull pump and clean. Check pipe for scale or corrosion.
Replace pump.
Install a check valve in discharge line.
Inspect check valve for correct operation.
Install larger basin.
Water spraying out of this hole is completely normal. No
corrective action is required.
