3.6 SEEDING ELEMENTS
3.6.1 ADJUSTING THE SEEDING DEPTH
To obtain a good level at which sprouts come out, the seed needs
to be placed at the right depth into the seeding bed.
Important! Before seeding always make sure that the machine
places the seeds at the desired depth.
ELEMENTS WITH CAST IRON WHEELS
The depth of the seed placement correctly determined when the
ballast on the side of the disck leans on the ground (1, Fig. 42).
The seeding depth is determined by the difference in diameter
between the furrower disc and the limiter ring.
Limiter rings are available upon request in different diameters to
change the seeding depth (Fig. 41) and in different materials
such as cast iron (19 to 23 kg) or metal sheet (8 to 10 kg) for
better adaptation to the soil conditions:
A) compact soil in general conditions (standard);
B) compact soil characterised by large crop residues;
C) surface planting on compact soil;
D) seeding of loose soil requiring minimum tillage;
E) surface planting on soil requiring minimum tillage.
IMPORTANT: Periodically check the seed-planting coulter (2, Fig.
42) for wear. Adjust the coulter position by loosening the screws
(3), if necessary. The inferior hedge of the coulter should never
be adjusted deeper than the internal profile of the toothed disk
(that is: all inner side of the coulter should always lay against the
disk when this is rotating) (2, Fig. 42). When tightening the screws,
make sure they are tightened evenly so that the cutting edge of
the colter adheres perfectly to the disk surface without interfering
with its rotation.
