12.4 Replacing the batteries
If the battery symbol in the display is blinking, the battery capacity is depleted. The batteries must
then be replaced.
Use only the specified battery type: 1.5 V (AAA/UM4/LR03) micro-batteries. The batteries are not
rechargeable!

Unscrew the air vent cap by hand or use a coin.

Remove the rear housing shell.

Remove the battery compartment covers
d.
Remove the dead batteries using a screwdriver.
e.
Insert the new batteries and press them firmly into the
sockets. Ensure that the polarity of the batteries corre-
sponds to the symbols on the battery compartment.
f.
Tightly re-seal the battery compartments with the cov-
ers. Carefully press the edges so that each cover fits
snugly on all sides without any gaps between it and the
battery compartment.
g.
Hang the rear housing shell from the top and then snap
it shut.
h.
Screw in the air vent cap.
Always replace the battery compartment covers when re-
placing the batteries. These are included with the replace-
ment batteries.
Dispose of fully discharged batteries only in
compliance with the Battery Directive. Do not
discharge the battery by short-circuiting – ex-
plosion hazard!
