5. Fault finding
Faults in a CIM 3XX BACnet module can be detected by observing the status of the two communication LEDs.
See the table below.
CIM 3XX fitted in a Grundfos product
Fault (LED status)
1.
Both LEDs (LED1 and LED2)
remain off when the power
supply is connected.
2.
The LED for internal
communication (LED2)
is flashing red.
3.
The LED for internal
communication (LED2)
is permanently red.
4.
The BACnet LED (LED1)
is permanently red.
5.
The BACnet LED (LED1)
is flashing red.
Possible cause
a)
The CIM 3XX is fitted
incorrectly in the Grundfos
product.
b)
The CIM 3XX is defective.
a)
No internal communication
between the CIM 3XX and the
Grundfos product.
a)
The CIM 3XX does not support
the Grundfos product
connected.
a)
Fault in the CIM 3XX BACnet
configuration.
a)
Fault in the BACnet
communication (fault in cyclic
redundancy check).
Remedy
Check that the CIM 3XX is fitted /
connected correctly.
Replace the CIM 3XX.
Check that the CIM 3XX is fitted
correctly in the Grundfos product.
Contact the nearest Grundfos
company.
• Check that the BACnet MAC
address (switches SW6 and
SW7) has a valid value [0-127].
See section 3.3 Setting the
BACnet MAC address.
• Check the Device Object
instance number (switch SW3).
See section 3.4 Setting the
Device Object instance number.
• Check the transmission speed
(switches SW4 and SW5).
See section 3.5 Setting the
BACnet transmission speed.
• Check the cable connection
between the CIM 3XX and
the BACnet network.
• Check the termination resistor
settings (switches SW1 and
SW2).
See section 3.2 Termination
resistor.
