SAFETY FEATURES
Your Pressure Canner is fitted with several safety features:
•
Safe closure feature: If the device has not been properly closed, the safety lock pin cannot rise
and therefore pressure cannot build in the device.
•
Safe opening feature: 1) During operation, the safety lock pin rises completely, locking the handles
and preventing the Pressure Canner from being opened. This locking system is deactivated when
the safety lock pin drops, i.e., when the Pressure Canner is no longer under pressure. 2)
Never touch the safety lock pin while the Pressure Canner is in use or while you
want to open the lid.
•
Overpressure safety features: First feature: the safety valve releases pressure and steam exits
horizontally towards the outer lid. Second feature: the gasket allows steam to escape all
around the pot.
If one of the overpressure safety features is triggered:
3.
Turn off the heat source.
4.
Let the Pressure Canner cool down.
5.
Open it.
6.
Check and clean the pressure regulator, the vent pipe, the vent pipe cover, the safety valve and the
gasket.
