Detector JA105 is a detector of metal masses which, by changing the state of an electrical contact, signals the presence
of a vehicle on an area defined by a loop.
The system's operating sensitivity can be adjusted to any vehicle and to different loops and power supply lines.

ATTENTION: Optimal operation of the detector depends to a great extent on correct configuration of the magnetic
loop.
The loop consists of a preferably continuous electric cable, placed in a groove made in the floor.
If installing in places still without any flooring, a standard electric cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm
can be used.
If a protective sheath is not used, we recommend the use of high temperature resistant cables to allow the loop to be
sealed with quick setting black epoxy resin or hot bitumen cement. Here are some examples of these cables:
• Butyl cable, double Teflon insulation
• Cable with Teflon insulation
• Cable with reinforced polyethylene insulation, 1.5 mm
• Pirelli FA 8544 cable
• Ceat HO7RNF cable
• Ceat UG5R/0.6 1kV cable
Unless operating under severe conditions, the detection loops must be rectangular and be installed with their longest
sides perpendicular with respect to direction of traffic (Fig.1).
Ideal distance between the sides: 1 metre.
The length of the loop depends on the transit area to be controlled. The loop should reach to at least 30 cm from every
access side (Fig.1).
Loop length must not be less than one metre and not more than 25 metres.
In the case of triangular shapes (e.g.: application for swing leaves), sensitivity drops especially on corners (Fig.2).
NB.: You cannot connect more than one loop to a single DETECTOR
1)
Using a piece of chalk, mark the shape of the loop on the floor and - at an angle from the loop - mark the raceway
of the
power supply line, bearing in mind the following:
• the minimum distance between the loop and any fixed metal mass must be at least 15 cm;
• the minimum distance between the loop and any moving metal mass (e.g.: gate leaves) must be at least one
metre;
• the length of the power line supplying the loop must be less than 100 metres.
2)
Make the groove with an asphalt-standard circular saw, observing the dimensions in fig.3.
NB.: To avoid damaging the cable at the corners, make 45° cross-cuts (Fig.1-2).
