Problem:

Turnadjustmentscrewcounterclockwiseto
decreasepumppressure.
DAILY SCHEDULE
1. GENERAL.Makegeneralvisualinspectionofheaterforloose
ordamagedparts.Checknutsandboltstoinsureagainst
loosenesscausedbyvibrationorroughhandling.Damaged
partsshouldberepairedorreplacedbeforeusingheater
again.Checkheateroperationtobesureitisoperating
normally(See"Servicing"sectionfordescriptionofnormal
operation).
2. FILTERS.Dirtyairorfuelfilterswillcauseanimbalancein
theair-fuelmixture.Thebestindicationthatthiscondition
existsisanincreaseinodorsordifficultygettingyourheater
toignite.Thisheatershouldneverbeoperatedwithoutthe
filtersinplace.Ifrequired,cleanfiltersasdescribedunder
"500Hours"and"AnnualSchedules".
500 HOUR SCHEDULE
1. AIRINTAKEFILTER.Removeandwashthefilterelement
withamilddetergent,drythoroughlyandreplace.Donot
oilthefilterelement.Ifyourheaterisusedwherethere
isconsiderabledustordirt,cleanasoftenasnecessary
(approximatelyevery50hrs.).
2. REMOVEDUST.Cleanheatertwiceaseason(moreoften
underdustyconditions).Removeaccumulateddustfromthe
transformer,burner,motorandfanbladeswithcompressed
air.Wipeareacleanwithacleandrycloth.Inspectareato
ensureallforeignmaterialsareremoved,especiallyaround
theburnerandcombustionarea.
3. CADCELL.Cleantheglassportionofthecadcellwithasoft
drycloth.
4. NOZZLE.Accumulationofdirtfromfuelandcarbonfrom
thecompressorvaneswilleventuallyfillupthepassages
inthenozzle,resultinginreductionoffuelandairflow.
Pressurewillgraduallyincreasegivingimproperfuel-air
mixtureandexcessodorandsmoke.Ifthisoccurs,replace
thefuelnozzle.
5. FUELTANK.Cleantwiceaseason(duringfrequentlyused
periods,cleantwiceamonth).Drainandflushthefueltank
withcleanfueloil.
ANNUAL SCHEDULE
1. AIROUTPUTFILTER.Removetheairoutputfilterandtap
thecontaminatedsidegentlyonasolidobjecttoremove
contaminates.Compressedairorliquidsshouldnotbeused
tocleanthisfilter.Reinstallcleanedfilterinfilterbodyinthe
samepositionasitwaswhenremoved.Ifthefilterappears
extremelydirty,replaceitwithanewfilterofthesame
type.Whenreplacingthefiltercover,besurethegasketis
firmlyinplaceandthescrewsinthefiltercoveraretightto
preventairleaks.
2. FUELFILTER.Removethefuelfilterfromfuellineanddirect
compressedairthroughthefilterintheoppositedirection
offuelflow.Safetyglassesshouldbewornwhenusing
compressedair.
3. AIRANDFUELLINES.Iftheairorfuellinesareremoved
duringcleaning,besureallconnectionsaretightbefore
operatingunit.

STORAGE
Storetheheaterinadrylocationfreefromfumesordust.
Attheendofeachheatingseason,cleantheheaterasdescribed
intheMAINTENANCEsection.Drainandflushthefueltankwith
cleanfuel.Themanufacturerrecommendscompletelyfillingthe
tankwithfuelforextendedstoragetominimizecondensation
insidethetank.
Itisrecommendedtoonlystorekeroseneincontainersthatare
marked"KEROSENE".
SERVICING
Ahazardousconditionmayresultifaheaterisusedthathasbeen
modifiedorisnotfunctioningproperly.
Whentheheaterisworkingnormally:

Theflameiscontainedwithintheheater.
* Theflameisessentiallyyellow.
*
Thereisnostrongdisagreeableodor,eyeburningorother
physicaldiscomfort.
*
Thereisnosmokeorsootinternalorexternaltotheheater.
*
Therearenounplannedorunexplainedshutdownsofthe
heater.
