5. USE
EN
5.1 First use
Before using the appliance for the first time, wipe the interior and clean all internal
accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical
smell of a brand new product, then dry thoroughly.
Important!
•
Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish.
•
After transport, unpacking and installation, let the appliance rest at least 2 hours in
vertical position before connecting to the power supply.
•
Let the appliance run for at least 2 hours before inserting fresh or frozen foods.
5.2 Temperature setting
Connect your appliance to mains power. The internal temperature of the combine
refrigerator is controlled by a thermostat (1) with 3 settings: "Min" is warmest setting and
"Max" is coldest setting. "Med" is the setting for normal operation.
The appliance may not operate at the correct temperature if it is in a particularly hot
position, if you open the door very often or leave it standing open.
During high ambient temperatures, e. g. on hot summer days, it may be necessary to set
the thermostat to the coolest setting (position "Max").
For the first time you install your combine refrigerator, set the thermostat knob to "Med"
position. Give your combine refrigerator time to cool down completely before adding
food. It is the best to wait 24 hours before adding food. The picture above shows the
drawers, crisper, glass shelves and racks placed in the most energy efficient positions.
5.3 Freezing fresh food
•
The freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and
deep-frozen food for a long time.
•
Place the fresh food to be frozen in the freezer compartment.
•
The maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is specified on the rating
plate of the appliance.
•
The freezing process lasts 24 hours: during this period do not add other food to be
frozen.
5.4 Storing frozen food
When first starting-up or after a period out of use, before putting the product in the
compartment let the appliance run at least 2 hours on a higher setting.
WARNING: In the event of accidental defrosting (for example the power is off), the
defrosted food must be consumed quickly or cooked immediately and then re-frozen
(after being cooked).
5.5 Thawing food
Frozen food can be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room temperature before
being cooked, depending on your needs. Follow the food manufacturer's instructions on
the packaging.
WARNING: Thawed foods cannot be re-frozen. Consume quickly.
