1 Safety
1.1
Safety instructions within these
operating instructions
Safety instructions within these instructions are
identified as follows:

1.2
General risks in the event of non-
adherence to the safety instruc-
tions
Operating personnel which is involved with the
commissioning, operation, maintenance and
repair of the machine, must have read and un-
derstood the operating instructions and espe-
cially the chapter entitled safety instructions.
In addition to the operating instructions and the
binding accident prevention regulations which
apply in the country and location of use, the gen-
erally recognised specialist, technical rules re-
garding safe and proper operation must also be
adhered to. All working methods which impede
safety must be desisted from.

Behaviour in emergencies
In the case of battery-operated
machines, switch main switch (8)
off. In the case of AC-operated
machines, disconnect the mains
plug.
1.4
Safety instructions for battery-
operated machines
Comply with operating instructions and display
these visibly at the charging point. Operations on
batteries should only be carried out following
instruction by specialist personnel. When carry-

ing out operations on batteries, wear protective
goggles and protective clothing. Adhere to acci-
dent prevention regulations and DIN VDE
0510/VDE 0105 T. 1. Smoking is prohibited; in
addition, no naked flames, incandescent materi-
als or sparks, due to the risk of explosion and
fire. Avoid short circuits and do not place objects
or tools on the battery.

Do not damage mains connection leads by
crushing, dragging, driving over them, rubbing or
by pulling on the cable on disconnection. Exam-
ine the leads for damage, bare patches,
scorched patches and similar types of risk prior
to use. Operating the machine is prohibited if the
mains lead is defective. Immediately replace
damaged parts. Only carry out operations which
are listed in the operating instructions. More in-
depth maintenance and repair operations must
only be carried out by the customer service or an
authorised specialist workshop. Use original
replacement parts or parts which correspond to
the technical data. When carrying out operations
on the machine, always disconnect this from the
mains.
