3 Operation
3.1
Prior to commissioning
Prior to commissioning, the local safety regula-
tions and the safety instructions in Chap. 1 of
these operating instructions must be noted.
Before carrying out operations prior
to commissioning, the mains plug
must, depending on the version, be
removed from the socket or the
main switch key must be turned to
the 0 position and removed.
3.2
Attachment of the suction base
(Fig. 1)
If the suction base (17) is not yet positioned in its
bracket (19), the two locking handles (18) on the
suction base (17) must be unscrewed until the
intermediate space which is created is sufficient
for the bracket. Raise the suction base, insert
the locking handles into the two recesses (21) in
the bracket (19) and tighten. The suction base
(17) must be installed so that the slots on the
suction lips (22) are located at the front in the
direction of travel (See Fig. 1).
3.3
Insertion of the brush or the drive
plate (Fig. 2)
Place the brush (26) in front of the machine. Set
the notch lever (14) for brush advance to the top
position, the turtle symbol (4). Tilt the machine
backwards. Move the machine over the brush
until the brush lies below the driver. Lower the
brush motor with the pedal (23). Rotate the
brush by hand until the driver engages, only then
switch the brush motor on with button (7).
3.4
Attachment of pad to drive plate
(Fig. 3)
Raise the brush motor (29) by pressing the
pedal (23). Lay the drive plate (48) on the floor
with the covering upwards. Place the pad (49)
onto the drive plate. Insert the centring bolt (50)
through the centre of the pad and fasten. Fasten
the drive plate as described in Chapter 3.
