Have any damaged parts replaced or repaired; the parts must be of equivalent quality.
• Do not allow processed material to accumulate inside the ejection area; this could prevent
proper ejection and cause material to kick back through the intake opening.
• In the event of blockages in the machine's intake or discharge, switch off the motor and
disconnect the mains plug before clearing material residues in the intake or discharge chute.
Make sure the motor is free of debris and other accumulations to protect the motor from
damage or possible fire. Remember that when the start mechanism is started up on power-
driven machines, the cutting tool also starts up.
• Make sure that all covers and deflectors are in place and in good working order.
• Do not change the governor setting of the motor; the speed controls the safe maximum
working speed and protects the motor and all rotating parts from damage due to excessive
speed. If you have any problems, contact the customer service department.
• Do not transport the machine with the motor running.
• Switch off the motor as soon as you leave the workplace and pull out the mains plug.
• Do not tip the machine when the motor is running.
• Avoid abnormal posture and always keep your balance to have a secure footing at all times.
• Stop the machine and disconnect the mains plug. Make sure that all moving parts have come
to a complete stop:
-
whenever you leave the machine unattended,
-
before clearing a blockage or cleaning blocked channels,
-
before checking, cleaning or otherwise working on the machine.
2.8 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• Check the appliance for faults or damage. If damaged, have the electrical device repaired by a
specialist before use.
• If the machine is switched off for maintenance, storage or replacement of an accessory, make
sure that the mains plug is disconnected from the mains. Make sure that all moving parts are
stationary and if there is a key, it is removed. Let the machine cool down before maintenance,
adjustment, etc.
• When servicing the cutting tool, bear in mind that it can still run due to the start mechanism
even if the motor is not running due to the cover interlock. Never attempt to bypass the
interlock function of the safety device.
2.9 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR EQUIPMENT WITH COLLECTIONBAG
Switch off the shredder before attaching or removing the collection bag.
2.10 RESIDUAL RISKS
Even when used as intended, there may still be residual risks due to the design determined by the
intended use, despite compliance with all relevant safety regulations. Residual risks can be
minimised if the safety instructions and the intended use, as well as the operating instructions as
a whole, are observed.
Consideration and caution reduce the risk of personal injury and damage:
• Risk of injury to fingers and hands if you reach through an opening with your hand and get to
the blade unit.
• Risk of injury to fingers and hands during assembly and cleaning work on the blade unit.
• Injury due to shredded materials being thrown out in the area of the hopper.
• Danger from electricity, if improper electrical connection cables are used.
