• Switch on and off
Warning: Do not switch the phone on when wireless phone use is
prohibited or when it may cause interference or danger.
Press and hold the End key. If the phone is on, you will be shown the standby
mode, followed by the list of profiles, before the phone switches off.
The phone does not have a dedicated key for turning the phone on and off; the
on-off function is combined with the End key.
When switching the phone on, it may request a PIN code or security code; key
in the code, and select OK. The preset security code is 12345. See "Security
settings" on page 29 for more information on phone codes.
If the phone displays Insert SIM card even though the SIM card is properly
inserted, or SIM card not supported, contact your network operator or service
provider. Your phone does not support 5-V SIM cards.
• Internal antenna
Your device has an
internal antenna.
As with any other radio
transmitting device, do not
touch the antenna unnecessarily
when the device is switched
on. Contact with the antenna
affects call quality and may
cause the phone to operate at
a higher power level than
otherwise needed. Avoid contact with the antenna area when operating the
phone to optimize the antenna performance and the battery life.
• Light alerts
Always deactivate the cover lights when they may cause distraction.
The display and keypad lights flash, indicating different phone functions. The
following phone functions use flashing lights:
•
An incoming call
•
An incoming SMS or multimedia message
•
An expiring calendar note or countdown timer
•
The alarm clock
•
Low battery alarm
You can activate the light alerts using the Light sequences function in the
Profiles menu (see "Profiles" on page 25).
