Operation
Bench test and prime
NOTE
Perform the following procedures at a
pressure not to exceed 20 psi (1.4 bar).
Verify air pressure at regulator reads zero.
1 Connect a product hose to material
outlet.
2 Place hose into an appropriate collection
container.
3 Install air connector (3) to inlet of air
motor.
4 Connect an air line to air coupler (4).
5 Connect air coupler to connector.
6 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
7 Pump should cycle. If pump does not
cycle, refer to Troubleshooting, page 16
for details.
Priming
With air pressure at zero:
1 Place pump in product to be dispensed.
2 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
3 Allow pump to cycle slowly until system
and product is free of air. If pump does
not prime, refer to Troubleshooting,
page 16 for details.
4 Check motor for air leakage. If motor
leaks, refer to air motor manual 397871
for details.
WARNING
Do not operate with leakage in system.
Disconnect air to motor.
Failure to comply may results in
serious injury.
Stall test
With air pressure at zero:
1 Attach a control valve to outlet hose of
pump.
2 Set air pressure to 100 psi (6.9 bar).
3 Operate control valve into a container.
4 Allow pump to cycle until system and
product is once again free of air.
5 Shut off control valve.
6 Pump should not cycle. If pump cycles
slowly (once or twice a minute) or con-
tinuously, refer to Troubleshooting,
page 16 for details.
