Pump tube upper packing
9 Unscrew cap screws (8) that secure
body (7) to air motor (4). Do not remove
cap screws from body.
10 Remove body from air motor. Use cap
screws as levers.
11 Position body on bench with larger
diameter facing upward.
12 Remove aluminum gasket (20),
washer (21), and additional gasket (20)
from body.
13 Remove spacer (19), washer (18), and
seal (17).
14 Remove lantern ring (16) with seal (15),
and spacer (14). Remove seal from
lantern ring.
15 Remove o-ring (13), o-ring (5), and
o-ring (6) from body.
Pump tube
16 Clamp pump tube at adapter (42)
securely in a soft-jaw vise.
17 Unscrew and remove pump tube (26)
from adapter.
18 Remove spring clips (24) that secure
pump tube rod (25) to upper and lower
couplings (23).
19 Unscrew rod from both couplings.
20 Remove spring clip (24) that secures
piston (34) to lower coupling (23).
21 Unscrew coupling from piston.
22 Remove barrel (28) from piston.
23 Remove both aluminum gaskets (27).
24 Remove brass bearing (32), back-up
ring (31), seal (30), and nylon wear
ring (29) from barrel.
NOTE
Inspect the inside diameter of nylon
wear ring (29). Remove the wear ring if
rough or worn.
25 Remove spacer (33) from top of
adapter (42).
26 Unscrew primer body (49) from
adapter (39).
27 Remove primer rod with attached
components from bottom of adapter.
28 Remove stop nut (48) from primer
rod (41). Support primer rod through
hole as needed.
29 Remove plate (47), gasket (27), valve
seat (46), and additional gasket (27)
from primer rod.
NOTE
Support piston and primer rod during
roll pin (40) removal.
Damage to components can occur.
30 Remove roll pin (40) that secures
adapter (39) to primer rod (41). Use a
punch and a small hammer.
31 Unscrew primer rod from adapter.
32 Remove valve body (45) with seal and
guide washer (43) from upper end of
primer rod.
33 Remove seal (44) from valve body.
34 Unscrew adapter from piston (34).
35 Remove aluminum gasket (38), ball (37),
spring (36), and retainer (35) from
piston.

Clean and inspect
NOTE
Use appropriate repair kit for
replacement parts. Make sure all
components are included in kit before
discarding used parts.
36 Clean all metal parts in a modified
petroleum-based solvent that is
environmentally safe.
37 Inspect all parts for wear and/or damage.
Replace as necessary.
38 Inspect piston (34) and primer rod (41)
closely. Use a magnifying glass to detect
any score marks. Replace as necessary.
39 Closely inspect mating surfaces of all
check valve components for any
imperfections ensure a smooth and
clean contact is obtained when
assembled.
