2.5 Troubleshooting
2.5.1 Leakage between plate package and frame
CAUSE
If a leak is identified near the connection, test that
the first seal hasn't been damaged or displaced.
The problem could be due to the seal being
displaced or due to damage.
Make sure that the inside surface of the front plate
is free of foreign objects: this could impair the
tightness of the seal.
Check that there are no indents or holes on the first
plate.
Improper assembly of the plate package.
Mixing the fluids of both circuits, misalignment of the plates.
Danger in the event of a chemical reaction between the fluids, which may have
an explosive effect or be toxic or otherwise harmful for humans. Fluid leakage.
Check if the plates are positioned and aligned correctly.
Pay attention to all the information in this manual for the use and maintenance of
the heat exchanger.
Do not use hazardous fluids.
Lack of lubrication on the expansion screws.
Difficulties loosening the nuts of the expansion screws.
The service technician will need to break the expansion screws in order to be
able to remove the plate package.
Provide appropriate lubrication for the expansion screws during commissioning.

SOLUTION
Replace the original seal.
Insert the correct primary seal.
Check each screw for tightness and make sure that
the piping is not mechanically stressed.
Position the first seal on the front plate without any
indents (residue, defects).
If the plate is damaged, it must be replaced.
