1.2 Safety information for servicing
• Only use the lubricants specified in this manual for maintenance;
• Maintenance and periodic overhauls should only be carried out by
properly skilled personnel or at one of the workshops in the JOST
authorized network.

1.3 Safety information for assembly
• Do not change the moun ng posi on specified by the
manufacturer of the tractor or semi-trailer;
• The Fi h Wheel must only be mounted by skilled and authorized
personnel;
• Consult the informa on issued by the manufacturer of the tractor
or semi-trailer when carrying out the assembly, such as
posi oning of the Fi h Wheel, height, type of a achment, Fi h
Wheel moun ng plate, axle load capacity, etc;
• An earth connec on must be made between the Fi h Wheel and
the chassis of the tractor vehicle for vehicles carrying dangerous
loads.
The moun ng of the Fi h Wheel on the tractor vehicle must comply
with the requirements of Direc ve ECE R55. It is also necessary to
comply with the regula ons in force and their appropriate legal
technical aspects for each country, such as the Scale Law in Brazil.
