2. Application and models
2.1 Application
The main func on of the Fi h Wheel is to promote the coupling of
tractor vehicles with semi-trailers.
The Fi h Wheel and Fi h Wheel moun ng plate are safety
elements for coupling ar culated vehicles and are subject to
approval. Their warranty may be invalidated if there are any
subsequent altera ons, such as welding.
The load capacity data applicable to JOST Fi h Wheels is indicated
on the nameplate. In severe applica ons, such as on unpaved roads
or off-road, for example, in addi on to considering the Ver cal Load
(U) and the maximum D-Value, it is recommended to consult JOST
to check the most suitable Fi h Wheel model for the applica on.
