Open pivot guard on handle (19) completely so
that the machine can be placed on the workpiece.
Align the saw blade with the scribe mark.
If the plunge-cut lever (8) is pushed downwards,
the saw blade cuts into the workpiece vertically.
Read the cutting depth on the scale (9).
The splitting wedge (20) swivels upwards during
the cutting procedure. When the machine is
moving, as soon as the gap behind the saw blade
is free, the splitting wedge returns to its normal
position.
9 Tips and Tricks
Sawing very narrow sections:
Insert the parallel stop (7) from the right into its
holding fixture.
If the section is so narrow that it cannot be aligned
with the parallel stop, then attach a wooden strip
of the appropriate width to the parallel stop. Holes
allow this to be fixed with screws.
10 Maintenance
Clean the machine regularly. This includes vacuum
cleaning the ventilation louvres on the motor.
Changing saw blades
Pull the plug out of the plug socket before
any adjustments or servicing are
performed.
Press in the spindle locking button (15) and hold in
place. Turn the saw spindle slowly with the
spanner in the saw blade fixing screw (24) until the
lock catches.
Remove the saw blade locking screw (24) by
turning it in counter-clockwise direction.
Remove the outer saw blade flange (23). Pull back
the movable safety guard (17) and remove the saw
blade (22).
The contact areas between the inner saw blade
flange (18), the saw blade (22), the outer saw blade
flange (23) and the saw blade fixing screw (24)
must be clean.
Insert a new saw blade, making sure the direction
of rotation is correct. The direction of rotation is
indicated by arrows on the saw blade and safety
guard.
Put on the outer saw blade flange (23). Tighten the
saw blade fixing screw (24).
Only use sharp, undamaged saw blades.
Do not use saw blades that are cracked or
that have changed their shape.

Do not use any saw blades which have a
thicker base body or a smaller width cut
than the splitting wedge.
Do not use any saw blades made from high-
alloy high-speed steel (HSS).
Do not use any saw blades which do not
conform to the specified rating.
The saw blade must be suitable for the no-
load speed.
11 Accessories
Use only genuine Metabo accessories.
If you need accessories, check with your dealer.
For dealers to select the correct accessory, they
need to know the exact model designation of your
power tool.

A Guide rail
B 2 clamp clips. To secure the guide rail.
C Connecting piece. For placing 2 guide rails
against one another.
D Angle guide. To be placed against the guide
rail. Allows mitre cuts up to 45° on both sides.
E Circular saw blades. For wood and similar
materials. Medium cutting quality.
F Circular saw blades. For wood and similar
materials. Also suitable for laminated boards
and plastics. Clean cut.
G Circular saw blades. For laminated boards,
wood-fibre boards, plastics. Clean cut.
H Multi-material saw blades. For wood and
similar materials, building boards, plastics,
composite working materials, cable channels
(made of synthetic materials, aluminium), non-
ferrous metals. Clean cut.
I Construction saw blades. For wood and
similar materials (also with nails and residual
concrete), formwork panels. Medium cutting
quality.
J Universal vacuum cleaner, special vacuum

12 Repairs
