5. INSTALLATION
Procedure for water charge and air purge in the hydraulic circuit
Before continuing with water filling, check the following:
• The water pre-charge pressure is about 1.5 bar.
• There are air bleed openings in all high points of the system.
Note:
The air purge openings must be positioned in places where they are eas-
ily accessible, to carry out commissioning. An automatic air purge is sup-
plied inside the unit. Check that the air purge valve is not over-tightened,
so that air bleeding in the water circuit remains possible.
Then, do the following steps:
1) Connect the water supply to a fill valve.
2) Loosen the bleed valve cap to let the air out of the hydraulic circuit.
The cap must not be removed.

3) Fill the hydraulic circuit with water until the pressure gauge indicates
a pressure of about 1.5 bar.
4) Activate the circulator (Pump 1) as follows:
- Make an electrical bridge between terminal L2 and P1,
- Electrically power the heat pump.
At this point the circulator will be in operation and it will be possible
to check the correct circulation of water in the system and through
the heat pump. Once this operation has been completed, remove the
power supply from the heat pump and remove the bridge between ter-
minal L2 and P1.

5) When all the air has been removed, tighten the drain valve cap again
Note:
• During the air bleeding operation additional water filling may be re-
quired.
• The water pressure indicated on the pressure gauge varies according
to the water temperature.
• The unit may dispose of some excess water through the safety valve

Check the minimum water flow rate at first start-up
When starting the MIRAI-SMI heat pump for the first time, set up the
system in operating conditions in minimum circulating water flow rate
(for example, in the case of a system divided into zones, with all electro-
thermal heads closed).
Then, start the heat pump circulator by pressing the PUMP button on the
TERMINAL BLOCK PCB, and check that the flow rate circulating in the
system is higher than the minimum value below:
600 l/h, for models EH0618DC and EH1018DC;
900 l/h, for models EH1218DC, EH1618DC and EH1718D3.
If the detected flow rate is lower than the minimum, proceed with the ad-
justment of the system in order to guarantee a correct flow rate value (for
example, by adjusting any calibration/by-pass valve in the system, etc.) .
