PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
CAUTION
INTENDED USE
Never use your power tiller for any other purpose. It is designed for this use and any other use may cause serious
injury and void the warranty. This machine can cut, grind and damage parts of your body.
Fuel is highly flammable and fumes are explosive. Take the following precautions.
•
Fuel and oil are hazardous. Do not inhale or ingest. If ingested, seek medical advice promptly. If you come
into contact with them, wash with plenty of soap and water immediately; if your eyes or skin feel irritated
afterwards, consult a doctor as soon as possible.
•
Do not refuel in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. Vapours contain hazardous chemicals.
•
These are dangerous and highly flammable chemicals. Keep away from open flames, sparks and heat
sources. Do not smoke while transporting, refilling or working. In case of fire, extinguish with a dry
powder extinguisher.
•
Always turn off the engine before refuelling.
•
Always refuel in well-ventilated areas and never with the engine running or hot.
•
If there is a leak, do not start or run the engine until it has been repaired.
•
Be sure to close the fuel cap properly.
•
Always store in approved containers. Do not use fuel stored for more than 2 months, it will make starting
difficult and lead to unsatisfactory engine performance.
THIS MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY IF MISHANDLED. READ ALL
WARNINGS AND CAUTION LABELS. YOUR POWER TILLER WAS BUILT TO BE OPERATED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EXPLANATIONS IN THIS MANUAL. AS WITH ANY TYPE OF
POWER EQUIPMENT, OPERATOR NEGLIGENCE OR ERROR CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
IF YOU VIOLATE ANY OF THESE RULES, YOU MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO YOURSELF
OR OTHERS.
THE OPERATOR OR USER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS OR HAZARDS OCCURRING TO
OTHER PEOPLE, THEIR PROPERTY AND HIMSELF/HERSELF.
MAKE SURE ALL SAFETY LABELS ON THIS EQUIPMENT ARE KEPT CLEAN AND IN GOOD
CONDITION.
KEEP HANDS AND FEET AWAY FROM PARTS WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. STOP
THE ENGINE AND DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH FROM THE TINES. BEFORE INSPECTION OR
MAINTENANCE OF THE TINES. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG CAP TO PREVENT ANY
POSSIBILITY OF ACCIDENTAL STARTING. WEAR HEAVY GLOVES TO PROTECT YOUR
HANDS FROM THE TINES WHEN REMOVING THE TINES OR LATER INSPECTING OR
REPLACING THEM.
SAFETY
Consult all documentation, packaging and labels before use. If you encounter a situation not described
here, use common sense to use the machine as safely as possible and, if you perceive a hazard, avoid
using it.
•
This product is intended for use by persons of legal age who have read and understood these
instructions. Do not allow minors and persons who do not understand these instructions to use it.
•
Before using this product, familiarise yourself with it. Make sure you know where all the controls
and safety devices are located and how they are to be used.
•
If you are an inexperienced user, we recommend that you practice doing simple jobs and, if
possible, in the company of someone with experience.
SAFETY IN MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
•
Regularly check for broken parts or other conditions that could affect the proper operation of the
machine.
•
Replace worn or damaged parts immediately with original spare parts only.
•
Perform regular maintenance on the machine. Do not attempt any maintenance or repair work
that is not described in this manual. We recommend that maintenance and repairs not described
should be carried out by an authorised service agent.
•
After work, always clean dust and dirt from the machine, especially from the fuel tank, its
surroundings and the air filter - Switch off the machine and disconnect the spark plug before
making any adjustments, refuelling, changing accessories, maintenance, transport or storage.
•
Keep the handles dry and clean - To avoid burns or fire hazards, allow the equipment to cool
completely before transporting or storing it.
•
When transporting the product, make sure that the engine is switched off and that the machine
is properly secured to prevent tipping, fuel spillage or damage.
•
The equipment is not weatherproof and should not be stored in direct sunlight, high ambient
temperatures or in damp or wet locations.
•
Store the product out of the reach of children.
