Inserting batteries
Detach the battery cover on the rear of the remote control and insert
two R6 (size AA) batteries. --* []
When to replace the batteries
The maximumoperationaldistanceofthe remotecontrolshouldbe
approximately 5 meters (16 feet). When thisdistancedecreases,
replace the batteries with new ones.

• Do not mix differenttypes of batteries, or old batteries with new
ones.
• Ifyouare notgoingto usethe unitfora longpedod oftime, remove
the batteries to prevent possibleelectrolyte leakage.

Hints for correct operation
The remote control may not operate correctlywhen:
• the line ofsight between the remotecontrol and the unit'sremote
sensoris exposed to intense light, such as direct sunlight.
• other remote controlsare used nearby (televisionetc.).

CONNECTING OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT _ []
You can listen to and record sounds from optional equipment
connected to thisunit.
Use a cable with an RCA phono plug (not supplied) to connect
analog equipment (turntables, LD players without digital output
connectors,VCRs, etc.) for audio playback.
Connections
Connect the redplug to the R jack, and the whiteplug tothe L jack
of the VIDEO/AUX jacks.
When connectinga turntable
Use an Aiwa turntableequipped with an equalizer amplifier.
CONNECTING A SUPER WOOFER
Connectinga super wooferincreasesthe realismof low-frequency
sounds.
Connect a super wooferwith a built-inamplifier(AiwaTS-W5 etc.)
to the SUPER WOOFER terminal. _ []
