Function
The BML is a magnetically coded, non-contact, absolute
measuring measurement system consisting of a sensor
head (BML SL1) and a magnetic tape (BML TSC). The
position is determined from a reliable two-track coding.
A continuous plausibility check can detect measuring
errors. The sensor status is indicated by an LED (Section
5.2 on page 16). As an option an automatic condition
monitor checks the signal quality to assess the function
reserve.
Absolute position output can be over the IO-Link interface
(Section 6 ind 7) or BiSS C/SSI (Section 8). With these
interfaces it is also possible to call up the diagnostic data
and configuration data.
Also possible is a low-delay output over an incremental
sin/cos interface (Section 9) especially for feedback tasks.
