5.11.3 Start optimisation/weight
minimisation
Optimisation program cycle
The following is a description of the optimisation
(identifi ed with OP) or weight minimisation (identifi ed
with UN) program cycle.
Optimisation cycle
Figure 5.-32
If after the measuring run the right or left compensation
and/or the static unbalance is more than 30 grams,
immediately perform optimisation. To activate this
function press FINE (3) + ENTER (1).
• Before optimisation, check that the rim dimensions
have been set correctly.
You cannot correct the data later.
• Demount the tyre and clamp only the rim for the
compensation run.
• Press ENTER (1).
Indication OP.1 appears (Fig. 5-33).
• Rotate the rim so that the valve is exactly
perpendicular to and above the main shaft.
• Press ENTER (1) to acquire the valve position.
Indication OP.2 appears.
Repeat the operation to correct a wrong valve
positioning.
Weight minimisation
If no optimisation, but only weight minimisation (i.e.
without compensation run for the rim without tyre),
proceed as follows:
• Clamp the complete wheel (rim and tyre).
• Press FINE (3) and ENTER (1) if minimisation is
started separately from optimisation.
Reading OP.1 appears.
• Press FINE (3) to go to the minimisation program.
Reading Un.3 appears. Run the minimisation program.
• With program OP.2 the rim compensation run can
still be omitted. Go to the program by pressing the
FINE (3) key.
Reading UN.4 appears.
• Proceed with the minimisation program.
The valve position entered in OP.1 is automatically
acquired.
