(Figure 23.2)
Set the edge height on edge guide D (Figs. 23.1 and 23.2)
and guide H (Figs. 23.1 and 23.2): Thread the edge bet-
ween guides H (Figs. 23.1 and 23.2), pull out the pressure
roller using lever I (Fig. 23.1), so that it allows the entering
edge to pass, and then slide the edge to its outlet through
edge guide D (Figs. 23.1 and 23.2).
Adjust the height of edge guide D (Figs. 23.1 and 23.2), using
knob C (Fig. 23.1) so that it slides smoothly, without applying
pressure on the edge.
Adjust the height of stops A (Fig. 23.1) on guide H (Fig. 23.1)
and lock them in place, leaving a margin of at least 0.5 mm
between the stops and the edge.
IMPORTANT
The optimum setting is considered to be one where the edge
slides freely with no obstacles along its entire path, and with
minimal vertical slack.
J
Position the edge to band the first piece: Release the pressure
from the pressure roller on the edge by pressing lever I (Fig.
K
23.1). Pull edge J (Figs. 23.1, 23.2, 23.3) back until it passes
blade K (Figs. 23.2 and 23.3), pulling on cylinder B (Fig. 23.1)
until closing blade K (Fig. 23.3). Push edge J back towards the
inside, until it stops against blade K (Fig. 23.3) and release
lever I (Fig. 23.1), which held the roller in place.
The edge is now ready and in position to begin operation.
