5.3 FEEDER CONTROL
5.3.1 Opening angle control
(Figure 25)
The opening angle of feeder A determines the pressure exer-
ted by the board being glued on guide B.
If there is too much pressure, it is possible that the edge will
bend and the end cutting operation will not be performed.
On the other hand, not enough pressure fails to ensure a co-
rrect gluing and trimming. It may be advisable to increase the
pressure a little when gluing very large panels.
The opening angle on the feeder is factory set, and shown by
position "0" on indicator G. It should only be reset in the case
of malfunction.
To set it:
• Loosen crank handle C and open the feeder by pulling on
handle D.
• To increase the board pressure or, in other words, increase
the distance A, loosen lock nut E, loosen screw F and once you
reach the desired pressure, retighten lock nut E.
The measurement of the opening may be verified on indica-
tor G, with the feeder closed.
• If you wish to reduce the pressure, proceed in the same
manner, but by tightening screw F.
5.3.2 Feeder height control
(Figure 26)
In order to set the feeder height, you must enter the board
thickness in millimetres in digital counter F, using flywheel
C.
Digital counter F provides readings in tenths of millimetres,
meaning that for a board measuring 19 mm, the reading
would be 00190.
The feeder is adjusted in the following manner:
• Loosen crank handle B. Turn flywheel C until the feeder
counter is set to the measurement that corresponds to the
board thickness and retighten crank handle B at this posi-
tion.
As the feeder is set, the trimmer and scrapers will also
be set.
Incorrect settings may cause inadequate board
traction, and result in a poor finish.
Never forget to loosen crank handle B before
adjusting the feeder height.
