MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Before performing any cleaning or maintenance operation turn to 0
position the general electric switch.

EFFEGIBI steam generators have been designed to require a few maintenance
operations. The appliance carries out automatically a cleaning cycle after each use, as it
is switched off, or in the event of continuous operation every four hours
However, every six months – or more often, in areas where the water is very"hard" (more
than 30° F) it is necessary to inspect:
- The drain valve
- The boiler
In order to remove all deposits such as limestone or other impurities produced by water
boiling.
This operation is never covered by warranty. EFFEGIBI
suggests to install a filter and a softener system upstream the
appliance in order to reduce and avoid the formation of such deposits
completely
Damage to the boiler, or irregular functioning due to lack of periodical inspection will
jeopardise the guarantee.
CLEANING
Clean the generator body with a soft cloth using non-abrasive products; never use jets of
water.

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE

Extraordinary maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel
only.
Before approaching the internal parts of the steam generator, switch off the appliance. In
any case, the maintenance operator must adopt the safety rules required by the country
where the appliance is installed.
If the heating element is replaced, the electric connections must be made following the
attached wiring diagram in such a way that the thermal switches (thermal fuses) included
in the three heating elements are actually connected to the respective line clamps
marked L1; L2; L3
BOILER DESCALING PROCEDURE
Boiler descaling is never covered by warranty.
This procedure should be carried out whenever the control panel shows that the boiler needs servicing and
whenever heavy scale deposits may lead to malfunction.
