Introduction
EN
Dear Customer,
Before you start reading the operating instructions on the following pages, we would
like to congratulate you for choosing MetaVoice. It is our pleasure to give you some ge-
neral indications that you should fi nd useful for getting to know how your new hands
free system works.
MetaVoice is a hands free appliance that uses Bluetooth technology.
The main reason for the creation of Bluetooth technology is its capacity to enable dia-
logue and interaction between diff erent appliances (telephones, printers, notebooks,
PDA, HiFi systems, TVs, computers, PCs, mobile phones, electrical appliances, hands
free systems...) without the need for wires to connect things generally known as wire-
less together, provided the various paired appliances are located at a distance (or ran-
ge) of no more than 5 m from one another.
Wireless refers to the type of communications, to monitoring and to a series of control-
ling systems where the signals travel through space and not along wires or transmission
cables. In a wireless system, transmission mainly takes place by radio frequency (RF).
Bluetooth technology was, therefore, specifi cally designed so that small appliances
can communicate with one another without wires. The key concept that inspired this
technology was that of completely eliminating the wires needed for communications
between appliances. MetaVoice is classifi ed as Bluetooth 2.1, class 2.
Operating modes
The way the system operates is described below.
Always refer to the operating manual for your mobile phone for pairing and reco-
gnition procedures.
The system is operational when the dashboard is switched on; if the dashboard is
switched off by a call in progress, according to the mobile phone model the call will
remain in waiting mode or transferred to the telephone after a short time.
Any activity involving interaction with your mobile phone must be done when the
vehicle is not in motion.
The LED identifi es the various stages of activity by changing its status accordingly when
the dashboard is on.
• Fast fl ashing (1sec): the system is searching to pair up to a telephone.
This phase lasts 60 sec. at most, after which the led goes out and remains off .
• Lit without fl ashing: the system is connected up to a telephone.
Pressing the button will result in a tone being heard through the speaker, regardless of
the operating status of the system.
Pairing
Pairing: procedures enabling the reciprocal identifi cation between the mobile phone
and the hands free set and enabling subsequent recognition.
In order to use the hands free set, the telephone and the hands free set must be paired
together.
