Connect the welding machine into a plug socket with an earth connection and the green pilot light will come on.
Ensure that the current is within the margins of (230 V ± 15).
The machine will not operate outside of these limits. The connection to the mains supply MUST have an earth
terminal.
The Use of Electrical Generators
ICON and ICON PRO models are designed to operate with an electrical generator. These generators however,
must fulfil a series of requirements.
We recommend using generators with a constant power of at least 8kVA with an asynchronous type alternator.
If the generator does not have sufficient force or the exit power is outside the equipment limits, it may cause the
arc to shut off and as a consequence, loss of weld quality.
For the ICON-1750, ICON-1850, ICON-1870CEL e ICON-1890VRD models see equipment components in
Fig.1
For the ICON-1950PRO, ICON-2050PRO, ICON-1970PRO CEL e ICON-2060PRO VRD models see
equipment components in Fig. 2.

Working mode selection

In the ICON-1750, ICON-1850, ICON-1870 CEL, ICON-1950 PRO, ICON-2050 PRO and ICON-1970 PRO
CEL models the equipment working mode can be selected with repeated pressing on switch "2".
There are 2 possible working modes (Fig. 5 and 6).
VRD Mode
In the ICON-1890VRD and ICON-2060 PRO VRD models, the VRD mode has been designed to provide the
operator extra protection when working in dangerous conditions. In areas where work takes place in conditions
of high humidity or where water is present on the ground, precautions must be taken to prevent electric shocks.
The VRD function disconnects the welding power milliseconds after welding has stopped and leaves a safe
electric current in the electrode. On re-starting the welding, the machine automatically activates the power.
