2 Notes on Safety

2.1 About this chapter

The product has been manufactured according to the accepted rules of current
technology. Even so, there is a risk of injury or damage if this chapter and the safety
information in these instructions are not observed.

Read these instructions completely and thoroughly before working with the
product.

Keep this documentation in a location where it is accessible to all users at all
times.

Always include the operating instructions when you pass the product on to third
parties.

2.2 Intended use

This product is a machine (in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC).
The product may be used as follows:
• Only in combination with electric case lifters 3 842 546 991 or 3 842 546 992 and
attachment plates 3 842 549 427 or 3 842 549 428.
• For support of containers (bins).
• For support of fl oor rollers (for the transport of bins).
The product is intended for the industrial sector and not designed for private use.
Intended use includes having read and understood these instructions, especially the
chapter "Notes on Safety".

2.3 Improper use

Any use other than that described in the section "Intended use" is considered
improper and is not permitted. Bosch Rexroth AG is not liable for any damages
resulting from improper use. The user alone bears the risks of improper use of the
product.
Improper use of the product includes:
• Product operation without an adequate distance to the surrounding equipment
(danger of crushing).
• Product operation to lift persons.
• Product operation to support bins that cannot be securely stacked.
• Product operation to support loads not packed in bins.
• Uncontrolled product operation to support bins with a clearance underneath the
bin below 120 mm in the lowest position.
• Product operation to support fl oor rollers (for the transport of bins) with a ground
clearance that exceeds 135 mm.
• Product operation to support a load that protrudes beyond the fork.
• Operation outside of the specifi cations of electric case lifter 3 842 546 991 or
3 842 546 992.
• Operation in the non-industrial sector.
