Usage
Extraoral X-ray
The procedure is described using an im-
age plate Plus OPG as an example
Required accessories:
– PSP
EN
– Plate protector matching the size of the phos-

phor storage plate
– X-ray cartridge without intensification plate,
(see "33 Special accessories" or "82 Prepare
the X-ray cartridge for an extraoral image
plate")
Preparing the X-ray
– The PSP has been cleaned
– The PSP is not damaged
If using it for the first time or if it has been
i
stored for over a week: erase the PSP (see
"115 Erasing the imaging plate")
Slide the phosphor storage plate fully into the
i
plate protector The black (inactive) side of the
PSP must be visible
Place the plate protector into the X-ray car-
i
tridge The foam side of the plate guide must
face in the direction of the cover of the X-ray
cartridge

Recording the X-ray image
Insert the X-ray cartridge into the X-ray unit

Make sure that the active side of the image
plate faces the X-ray tube
Set the exposure time and setting values on
i
the X-ray unit (see "83 X-ray unit settings")
Record the X-ray image
i
The image data must be scanned within 30
minutes
