Measuring Functions
Holding/Copying a Measured Value (see figure D)
With the button Hold/Copy (22), two functions can be con-
trolled:
– Hold a measured value, even if the measuring tool is sub-
sequently moved (e.g. because the measuring tool is in a pos-
ition in which the display is difficult to read);
– Copy a measured value.
Hold function:
– Briefly press the button Hold/Copy (22). The current meas-
ured value (d) is held on the display and stored, and the in-
dicator H flashes.
– Press the button Hold/Copy (22) again to end the hold func-
tion. The stored value is deleted. Normal measurement is
continued.
Copy function:
– Press and hold the button Hold/Copy (22). The current
measured value (d) and the indicator H flash.
– The measured value can be readjusted as long as the meas-
ured value flashes (three seconds). Press the button for
changing the unit of measure (20) to increase the value and
press the button Cal (21) to decrease the value.
– If the measured value is not corrected, it will flash for three
seconds, then it will be stored and subsequently move to the
current measurement. The indicator H is shown continuously
on the display.
– To retrieve the copied value, briefly press the button Hold/
Copy (22) again.
– Place the measuring tool in the location to which the meas-
ured value is to be transferred. When doing so, the alignment
of the measuring tool is irrelevant. The alignment aids (a)
show which direction the measuring tool has to be moved in
to reach the grade you want to copy. When the stored grade
is reached, an audio signal sounds and the alignment aids (a)
go out.
– Briefly press the button Hold/Copy (22) again to return to
normal measurement. The indicator H is shown continuously
on the display.
– Press and hold the button Hold/Copy (22) to save a new
value.
– To delete a hold value, briefly press the on/off button (19).
Changing the Zero Point
For easier checking of grades (e.g. 45°), the zero point of a
measurement can be changed.
Align the measuring tool by placing it against a reference work-
piece so that the desired new zero point is displayed as the
measured value (e.g. 45.1°). Press the button Alt 0° (18). The
measured value (d) and the indicator for a changed zero
point (e) flash.
Roughly measured values can be corrected as long as the meas-
ured value (d) flashes: To increase the saved value, press the
button for increasing the display value (20); to decrease the
value, press the button for decreasing the display value (21)
(e.g. from 45.1° to 45.0°). Three seconds after the last button
actuation, the displayed grade value is saved as the new refer-
ence value.
In the measuring indicator (d), the current measured value is
shown based on the new zero point, and the alignment aids and
audio signals are based on the new zero point. Example: At a
grade of 43.8° in relation to the horizontal surface and a stored
zero point of 45°, 1.2° is shown as the measured value.
To return to the standard zero point 0°, briefly press the on/off
button (19). When doing so, the hold value will also be deleted.
Contact-Free Measuring/Transferring of Grades
With the laser, it is possible to measure and transfer grades con-
tact-free, even over greater distances.
Do not direct the laser beam at persons or animals and do
u
not stare into the laser beam yourself (even from a dis-
tance).
Always use the centre of the laser point for marking. The
u
size of the laser point changes with the distance.
To measure grades, align the measuring tool so that the laser
beam runs alongside the surface to be measured. To transfer
grades, align the measuring tool so that the desired grade is dis-
played as the measured value (d), and mark the grade on the
target surface using the laser point.
Note: When transferring grades via the laser, take into consider-
ation that the laser comes out 30 mm above the bottom edge of
the measuring tool.
